About the Hasbrouck Heights Little League

Administration

Hasbrouck Heights Little League (HHLL) exists under a charter granted by Little League Baseball, Inc. (LLB). The league is bound by the Rules and Regulations of LLB and By-Laws that are approved by the members and filed with LLB. The governing body is a thirteen member board elected in September and serving until the following September. The voting body consists of current board members and managers. Coaches may vote if they have attended 4 or more of the monthly meetings in the prior year. The Board consists of a President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer and Coordinators for each of the four Leagues. Financial records are maintained and an audited statement is produced yearly and filed with appropriate authorities.

Leagues

  • League Age - is the players age as of April 30th in that season. Players must be no older than twelve years of age by the same date. See our Age Calculator to determine your child's eligibility.
  • Tee Ball (5 years) - Focus will be on FUN and skills development. Children will hit from a batting tee and learn basics of hitting, catching, throwing and game concepts. A learning experience for both children and parents alike. We also hope to develop parents as future managers, coaches and volunteers from this level. Score is not officially kept as both sides are winners at this level.
  • Minor B (6-7 years) - Skills development continues at this level. Coaches will pitch to the children from a modified distance in early season, followed by coaches pitching from regulation distance towards the end of the season. The fundamentals of position play will be learned and skills will be enhanced to include base running and reaction to game situations. Teams are formed utilizing a "draft" process with the goal of forming teams of equal ability. Score is kept but team standings are not noted. Eight year olds are eligible for selection to a "Tournament Team" that will continue post season play in the Lyndhurst Tournament.
